Dating Thai boys (58)
Sensory overload
I have long suspected
that some of my Thai acquaintances suffer from sensory overload. They just can't
process all the information facebook, line and online dating throw at them. And
finally I got triple proof (screenshots months apart) for one boy whom I follow
on facebook. He posted a screenshot with 22,222 unread messages (3 of them are
mine) on Line (left in picture), then a friend sent me his Line and I tried to
add him (central), and he posted a message on facebook that facebook temporarily
blocked him (right; 3 days, I can only assume for suspiciously high
activity).
Now I can stop all my attempts to reach this boy online (and another one for whom I suspect the same situation): only if my message reaches him in a lucid moment, and both of us are free and and easy travel distance it would work out. I know he occasionally works in a gogo in Pattaya, and I might find him there one night. Everything else is a waste of my time.
It's a bit like when I watch movies in cinema in English with Thai subtitles, and try to translate the Thai subtitles to match them with the English, but can do only at half the speed they come.
Similar in real life: I was once sitting in a beer bar in Soi Twilight and observed the passing traffic. Several boys I had business with passed, and those I had marked as "clever" greeted me, whereas those I had marked as "stupid" didn't notice or recognize me. It's because their brain is fully occupied with breathing, keeping balance and walking; there is no memory to store my face and no calculation capacity to process the visual data (i.e. matching faces of customers in the soi with those stored from previous encounters).
