The public is welcome to walk
in to visit the Bank of Thailand Museum on Saturdays at 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm
and 2.30pm (about 80 persons per session). Only pre-arranged groups of at least
20 can make visits on weekdays from 9.00am to 4pm. Advance booking of at least
one month for group visits is required via 02-283-5286 or 02-283-6723. Admission
is free. The museum is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Photography is
prohibited inside the palace buildings. Visit bot.or.th for more

This palace has long been high on
my list of places I want to go, and I have seen it many times passing by Chao
Phraya boat or on Rama 8 bridge.

Arrive 13:27 (entrance under Rama
8 bridge) and get ticket #41 for the 14:30 tour. Spend the waiting time walking
around the palace and take pictures.
Details:
There are several buildings of distinct architectural styles on the palace grounds; the above Tamnak Yai ตำหนักใหญ่ in neo-Baroque and Rokoko, Tamnak Somdet ตำหนักสมเด็จ in Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau), Wang Thewawet วังเทวะเวสน์and Bank of Thailand (modern style).

Entrance to the palaces is under Rama 8 bridge (the gate where the security guard is standing):
Tour is about 14:20 to 15:40, in groups of about 20, with guide who explains in Thai. Unfortunately only Tamnak Yai is in the tour, and no pictures inside allowed.
Long trousers, take off your shoes, put your phone in a plastic bag with number (however when I wanted to deposit my bag containing my camera and other stuff, they told me I can take it with me).
